Dennis Prager spoke to a Miami crowd for a full hour last Thursday night. The paralyzed PragerU co-founder said he’s grateful for the life he still has.
What We Know: Hundreds of attendees listened as Prager spoke for an hour. The appearance comes after he fell in a bathroom on Nov. 12th, 2024, an injury that left him paralyzed from the shoulders down. His initial prognosis pointed to palliative care. However, he’s since made notable progress. Meanwhile, he’s working on his Leviticus commentary for The Rational Bible, his book series on the Torah, and he hosts a weekly PragerU podcast. He’s also published a book, If There Is No God: The Battle Over Who Defines Good And Evil.
What They Said: “I knew I had three choices: death, depression, or perseverance. I don’t want to die. I love life as much as I have ever loved life. I really love life … Gratitude is the mother of happiness. All happy people are grateful and ungrateful people cannot be happy.” -Dennis Prager
What Remains Unclear: It remains unclear whether Prager will speak at other events or join broadcasts. Additionally, neither PragerU nor Salem Radio Network have detailed whether his changing circumstances will lead to any broader adjustments in its content strategy
What It Means: Beyond his media career, Prager could also become a source of inspiration for people facing significant physical challenges, demonstrating that a life-altering injury does not necessarily end one’s ability to influence others or contribute to public discourse. Moreover, his continued involvement in PragerU keeps the organization connected to its founder and longtime audience, even as other personalities potentially assume larger roles.
