After former Fox News host Tucker Carlson announced he would move his program to Twitter earlier this week, Elon Musk offered Don Lemon the same opportunity. He argued the social media platform had a larger audience than cable news. However, 1210 WPHT morning host Nick Kayal doesn’t believe Lemon would ever accept such an offer.
“I’ve gotta give credit to Elon Musk as a guy who values free speech and trying make Twitter the town hall forum for everybody to use regardless of if you’re on the left or on the right,” Kayal said on Kayal & Company. “We know that Tucker Carlson will be doing his show on Twitter now. He extended Don Lemon the opportunity.
“Now, he doesn’t have the following of Tucker Carlson, but Don Lemon has more followers on Twitter than he had viewers on CNN, which is not hard to do. It will be interesting if Don Lemon would take him up on it. My guess is no, in large part because there’s not much demand for Don Lemon compared to Tucker Carlson. Elon Musk playing it fair and consistent, though.”
Lemon has yet to publicly comment on the offer from Musk. He hasn’t tweeted since announcing his departure from CNN last month.
Kayal went on to question what potential options Lemon has, saying that it is possible we’ve seen the last of Lemon.
