The sponsorship deal between the Pivot Podcast and Fanatics is over just as soon as it began. According to Front Office Sports, what was once a multi-year deal between Fanatics, which was looking to get into the digital media space, and the popular Podcast starring former NFL stars Ryan Clark, Channing Crowder, and Fred Taylor, is now a relic of the past. FOS says the podcast will now search for new opportunities independently.
“We were excited to partner and work with Fanatics, had some good moments throughout the experience and are looking forward to continuing doing what has made The Pivot the impactful platform it is today. Ryan, Channing and Fred embody a special connection and skill which is one of the most respected and entertaining in the industry—growing that will always be our mission,” Pivot’s executive producer and partner Alicia Zubikowski said to FOS in a statement.
In May, Clark called it a “blessing” to partner with Fanatics, saying, “…obviously now having an opportunity to partner with Fanatics and be a part of Michael Rubin’s team and sort of head their media division, especially when you’re speaking of Alicia and what she’ll be able to do, it just makes so much sense.” The deal between the two sides allegedly ended in late 2024.
Fanatics could have been spurred by recent content-related decisions from gambling companies. DraftKings has elected to shed much of its in-house sports production content by not renewing Mike Golic Sr. and Jr.’s contracts, among others.
