Yahoo Sports is turning to some of the most accomplished Winter Olympians in history to strengthen its video coverage of the Milan-Cortina Olympic Games, assembling a trio of gold medalists to deliver analysis, storytelling, and athlete-driven perspective across multiple platforms.
Nathan Chen, Julia Mancuso, and Apolo Ohno will serve as on-air correspondents throughout the Games, providing event recaps, technical breakdowns, and behind-the-scenes features designed to help fans better understand both the competition and the culture surrounding the Olympics.
Collectively, the group represents 15 Olympic medals, including five golds, and brings experience across three of the Winter Games’ marquee sports.
Chen, the 2022 Olympic figure skating champion, will focus on figure skating coverage, offering analysis that goes beyond scores and standings. His segments will break down judging criteria, competitive strategy, and the mental preparation required to perform under Olympic pressure.
Mancuso, a four-time Olympic medalist in alpine skiing, will cover downhill, giant slalom, and super combined events, adding insight drawn from competing across three Olympic cycles.
Ohno, the most decorated U.S. Winter Olympian with eight medals in short-track speed skating, will analyze speed skating while also addressing the broader demands of elite Olympic competition.
In addition to competition recaps, the trio will produce feature content from Italy that highlights life around the Games. Those segments will focus on athlete routines, local culture, and the moments away from the venues that often shape the Olympic experience but rarely receive extended attention.
Yahoo Sports executives believe that approach will resonate with audiences looking for more context and personality alongside live results.
“Nathan, Julia, and Apolo know what it takes to compete — and win — on the world’s biggest stage,” said Sam Farber, Head of Yahoo Studios and Sports Content. “We look forward to them bringing their expertise and insights to fans across platforms during the Olympics.”
Their work will appear across Yahoo Sports’ digital ecosystem, including yahoosports.tv, YouTube, and social media platforms. Chen, Mancuso, and Ohno will also contribute to the newly launched Yahoo Sports Network free streaming TV channel, with remote appearances on the Yahoo Sports Daily live morning show serving as a centerpiece of that coverage strategy.
