ESPN will turn South Florida into the center of the college football universe as its networks and digital platforms deliver more than 24 hours of live studio and on-site programming surrounding the College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday at Hard Rock Stadium.
The wall-to-wall coverage begins today and runs through Tuesday, January 20, with content airing across ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ACC Network and ESPN’s digital and social platforms. The multi-day presence culminates on Championship Monday, when ESPN deploys its most recognizable shows, personalities and reporters to provide comprehensive analysis, storytelling and real-time reaction from Miami.
College GameDay will close out its most-viewed regular season on record with a special edition live from Hard Rock Stadium beginning at 5 p.m. ET. Host Rece Davis anchors the set alongside analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and Nick Saban, while Jen Lada, Jess Sims, Pete Thamel and Stanford Steve Coughlin contribute reporting and insight. Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman will also join the broadcast as a guest analyst for the national championship.
Throughout the show, ESPN will lean into narrative-driven features that explore the people and programs shaping this year’s title game. Those segments include hometown storylines, deep dives into Miami’s historic swagger, a sit-down conversation with both head coaches and a closer look at Indiana’s improbable run to the sport’s biggest stage. Additional reporting examines how proximity and history could influence the atmosphere at what is technically a neutral-site championship.
ESPN’s studio programming extends well beyond GameDay. The Pat McAfee Show will broadcast live from Hard Rock Stadium from noon to 2 p.m. ET on ESPN, ESPN on YouTube and the ESPN App, with McAfee and his crew welcoming guests throughout the afternoon.
ACC Network will also maintain a strong on-site presence, featuring multiple editions of ACC Huddle, Inside ACCess and a dedicated alternate telecast of the championship game, all originating from Miami.
Digital platforms play a central role in ESPN’s coverage strategy as well. Countdown to the CFP National Championship will stream live from the field on ESPN YouTube, Facebook and the ESPN App, delivering pregame breakdowns, matchup analysis and live reports.

ABC’s Good Morning America will contribute national exposure throughout the weekend with live updates from Hard Rock Stadium, including a special post-championship edition anchored on the field. SportsCenter, First Take and several college football-focused studio shows will also originate from Miami, ensuring consistent coverage across ESPN’s programming ecosystem.
