One day after announcing that Allen Power would retire, Salem Media has found his successor.
What We Know: The company has announced that Linnae Young will succeed Power as the President of Broadcast Media. She has spent more than 30 years with the organization. She currently serves as the Chief Revenue Officer for Salem Media. She’ll continue in that role after her appointment to the President of Broadcast Media role. Allen Power will step down from the position on Wednesday, September 30th. Additionally, Jeff Reisman will be promoted to Executive Vice President of Operations on Thursday, October 1st.
What They Said: “Linnae has earned the respect of people across this company and throughout our industry. She knows our business inside and out and has been a driving force behind Salem’s success for more than three decades. Her leadership has made a lasting impact across Salem, and I’m excited to see her take on this expanded role.” -Salem Media CEO David Santrella
“It is an honor to step into this role at such an exciting time for Salem. Salem is growing in exciting ways. From Salem Creators Agency to Salem Political Solutions, we’re finding new ways to serve audiences and partners. I’m excited to help build what’s next, and to continue to help develop future leaders.” -Linnae Young
What’s at Stake: Linnae Young obviously has strong knowledge of Salem’s operations from her current role and decades of experience. She’ll be a strong asset in the position. It’s also another elevation for Reisman, who has worked in a variety of sales and leadership roles for Salem for the past 22 years.
What It Means: The proof is in the pudding. Salem Media often promotes from within, and it’s on display here. Two longtime company veterans are receiving promotions into key positions for the organization. Despite the changes, Salem likely remains on strong footing due to the institutional knowledge retained with these moves.
