A year ago today, July 22, 2025, the world didn’t just lose a rock star. It lost a legend — John Michael “Ozzy” Osbourne.
Ozzy was a force, a presence, truly one-of-one. He was a human and artist unlike most we’ll ever be lucky enough to encounter in our lifetime.
Still Feeling the Loss
A year removed, the loss still feels strange. You can still feel the space he left behind. Every time Ozzy’s music comes barreling out of the speakers, it hits differently — heavier, more meaningful. Clips from the reality show still bring laughs. Meanwhile, bootleg recordings feel newly sacred and even more valuable. And tributes from brands and artists continue to remind us how remarkable the Prince of Darkness really was.
Throughout his life, Ozzy brought people together, made them smile, and showed the world what real, unfiltered authenticity looked like. When he passed, the Rock community responded in a way I’ve never seen — wholly united, emotional, and stronger than ever.
Legends Don’t Die
That fire still burns, because legends don’t die — they evolve. In fact, they take on new meaning and create unforgettable memories along the way.
Indeed, Ozzy is still with us. And he is still dearly missed, one year later.
