ESPN’s College GameDay Continues Record Viewership Pacing

ESPN networks carried the five most-watched college football games of Week 3. Additionally, the company captured two-thirds of all college football viewing. While also earning the most viewed week three episode of College GameDay ever in network history.

What We Know: LSU vs. Ole Miss led the way, averaging 10.9 million viewers and peaking at 13.7 million. Meanwhile, Florida State vs. Alabama topped the afternoon window with 7 million viewers. In primetime, ABC’s Kentucky vs. Texas A&M drew 5.4 million viewers and peaked at 8.1 million. Furthermore, College GameDay averaged 2.8 million viewers from Oxford, up 4% from its 2025 season average. According to ESPN, its networks accounted for two-thirds of all college football viewing in Week 3. Additionally, the network said GameDay’s final hour drew 3.6 million viewers, surpassing competition by 216%.

What Remains Unclear: With three GameDay sites in SEC country, it remains to be seen if ESPN will break away from SEC territory for an episode this season. With consistent viewership so far, it’s unknown if the pattern will continue or will see rises as the regular season wears on.

What It Means: Overall, ESPN’s depth showed across the board. ABC’s Georgia vs. Arkansas drew 4.2 million viewers, while ESPN’s North Carolina vs. Clemson added 3.6 million. Consequently, the company won every Saturday window in Week 3. Ultimately, those numbers reinforce ESPN’s grip on college football’s biggest audiences.
