Joe Rogan: Media ‘Acting As A Propagandist’ By Calling Antifa Protests ‘Mostly Peaceful’

Protests in downtown Atlanta turned violent Saturday as members of Antifa torched a police cruiser. In its coverage of the event, journalist David Peisner told CNN the events were “mostly peaceful“, which caught the ire of podcaster Joe Rogan.

Rogan took extreme issue with the insinuation that the events were “mostly peaceful” calling the comments ridiculous.

“You’re willing to overlook some awful shit on your side and you’re willing to exaggerate some shit on the other side,” Rogan said. “But ‘everybody’s on the same team’, so you have to pretend that these f—ing people lighting churches aren’t f—ing assholes. These people are lighting schools on fire and lighting courthouses on fire.

“‘Mostly peaceful’. I f—ing saw someone say this again, with what happened in Atlanta. There’s literally a cop car on fire, and there’s someone calling it ‘mostly peaceful’,” Rogan continued.

The Joe Rogan Experience host added that the way media coverage is presented is important, and it isn’t the job of the press to “calm people down”.

“You’re not the f—ing propaganda department,” concluded Rogan. “You can’t define things in a way to calm people down. That’s now what you’re f—ing job is. You’re bullshitting people. You’re acting as a propagandist. It’s not ‘mostly peaceful’ when a car is on fire.”

Fox News’ Benjamin Hall Makes First On-Air Appearance Since Ukraine Injuries

More than 10 months after being wounded while covering Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Fox News correspondent Benjamin Hall made his first live on-air contribution Thursday morning.

While appearing on Fox & Friends, Hall said he is seeing progress in his recovery.

“I feel strong, I feel more confident than I ever have,” Hall said. “I think that you learn a lot going through things like this, and I was surrounded by so many wonderful people. That’s why I’m here today. I look forward to everything that comes ahead.”

On March 14th, 2022, Hall was wounded in an attack by the Russian military outside the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. He lost part of his leg, both feet, permanent damage to one of his hands, and was also blinded in one eye. Producer Oleksandra Kuvshynova and videographer Pierre Zakrzewski were both killed in the attack.

Hall made the appearance to promote his upcoming book Saved: A War Reporter’s Mission To Make It Home, which will tell the tale of his injuries and his never-give-up attitude.

“This book is about being saved,” the Fox News correspondent said. “It’s being saved by all of these people, and it’s that understanding that can give you so much strength. And we all think about Pierre every day, I think that is really important for us to do. And I think of my family every day, and I went through everything thanks to them. You have to remember those close things to you and keep fighting every day.”

Gregg Giannotti: James Dolan Hates WFAN Because of Maggie Gray Comments

Neither the New York Knicks nor Rangers radio rights rest with WFAN, and there’s an apparent reason for that. According to WFAN morning host Gregg Giannotti, James Dolan — owner of both franchises — hates the radio station for comments made a few years ago.

A discussion about the facial recognition software used by Madison Square Garden to remove guests not welcomed by Dolan on Boomer & Gio brought up the revelation from Giannotti that criticism levied to Dolan by former midday host Maggie Gray is the reasoning behind Dolan’s hatred of WFAN.

“She called out James Dolan for his Harvey Weinstein song. That was just gross. It was so ridiculous,” Giannotti said. “It was all ‘I should have known my friend was pulling out his fish-looking penis and showing it to people’. That was basically his song, so Maggie’s like ‘This is ridiculous’, calls him out on it, and ever since then MSG and WFAN have had this horrible relationship. Because James Dolan hated Maggie for calling him out.”

Giannotti then wondered if Gray would be able to get into Madison Square Garden due to Dolan’s alleged hatred of her. She called into the show to say she actually entered the arena in September of 2021.

“I got invited to the Garden to the WWE SmackDown event,” said Gray, who now hosts the afternoon show on CBS Sports Radio with Andrew Perloff. “I know some people at WWE, they were having a party, and then I got to go to SmackDown. I didn’t buy a ticket or anything and had a mask on. It’s September of 2021, so everyone still had masks on.

“I walked through the metal detector, multiple detectors, they checked my bag, the whole thing. They saw the invitation I had. Then I go up to a party that was in one of the suite levels, took the mask off, mingled at the party for like an hour with people I knew, and took the mask off to watch the show…No one ever approached me. It was really shocking actually.”

After Gray’s call, co-host Boomer Esiason said he remembered the anger from Dolan, saying “I just remember thinking ‘You gotta be kidding me’.”

Giannotti then shared a story about how MSG would donate items for a charity auction put on by the station, but former WFAN Program Director Mark Chernoff was “ambushed” by MSG employees who “hammered” him for Gray’s comments.

“That James Dolan can hold a grudge,” Giannotti concluded.

Shan Shariff: Stephen A. Smith Made Us Sound Like Pathetic Beggars

First Take pundit Stephen A. Smith has made trolling the Dallas Cowboys one of his calling cards, which hasn’t always been well received by 105.3 The Fan hosts Shan Shariff and R.J. Choppy.

The two sides were able to mend fences recently, with Smith appearing on Shan & RJ twice in recent weeks. However, the Dallas morning show feels as if Smith misrepresented one of their recent discussions.

Earlier this week on First Take, Smith claimed the show essentially groveled at his feet for him to return to the program should the Cowboys make the NFC Championship Game.

“That’s not what happened! I thought he was going to bring up the bet! I thought he was gonna say ‘I was gonna give these jokers an opportunity to come on First Take, show their ugly mugs and ugly faces, and have dinner at the Super Bowl in Arizona’,” Shariff said in his best Stephen A. Smith impersonation.

The bet alluded to by Shariff was in regards to Smith’s insinuation that if the Cowboys lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Super Wild Card round, head coach Mike McCarthy would be fired.

Shan & RJ were adamant that would not happen. The show offered to take Smith and former Cowboy Michael Irvin out to a nice dinner during Super Bowl week should McCarthy be fired. But if the franchise lost the game and McCarthy wasn’t fired, the show wanted a spot at the First Take debate desk, which Smith said they “weren’t worthy” of.

“That’s what we discussed. We didn’t say ‘Will you please come back on if they make the Conference Finals? Please come back on’, making us sound like we were begging and pathetic,” Shariff argued. “We set up the parameters of a bet!”

However, Smith told the First Take audience that he told the show to prepare for a loss, claiming Shan & RJ “had the audacity” to ask if he would return to the program “when the Cowboys make the Conference Championship Game”.

Ultimately, the Cowboys were eliminated in the NFC Divisional Round in a 19-12 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Republican Congressman Tells Newsmax Public Hearings Could Be On Table After Channel Dropped By DirecTV

The decision by DirecTV to remove Newsmax from its channel offerings continues to be a divisive one.

Newsmax CEO Chris Ruddy claimed the satellite provider’s goal was to censor the channel. Congressman Michael Waltz (R-FL) said if that’s the case, public hearings could be on the table.

Waltz was one of the Republican Congressmen to co-sign a letter to DirecTV admonishing the company for its removal of Newsmax. The letter — authored by Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-TX) — took issue with a perceived preference by the company to continue airing “liberal news channels”, naming Vice News specifically, but “de-platforming” of conservative channels like OAN and Newsmax.

“We have a number of questions in that letter that we’ll demand answers for,” Waltz told Newsmax host Rob Finnerty during Wake Up America Thursday. “It could go so far as to have their executives come to talk to us and explain this to us in terms of both the timing and intent. And it could go as far as having public hearings. I think the public hearings should be part this a broader effort from the left to essentially snap everybody in line with their view, their way of thinking, or you can’t get access to anything you need to actually function as a company or a business.”

DirecTV has claimed it denied demands from Newsmax for a carriage rate increase, saying it “would have led to significantly higher costs that we would have to pass on to our broad customer base”.

Ruddy claimed in an interview with Howie Carr that the satellite provider currently pays the channel nothing, and was told in negotiations that DirecTV said “We’re not gonna pay you a dime. We’re not gonna pay you a penny. We’re paying you nothing.”

Newsmax CEO: DirecTV’s Goal Was to Censor Us

DirecTV has decided to remove cable news channel Newsmax from its offerings. The decision has been met with backlash from conservative media members, with many claiming the satellite provider was “de-platforming” conservative voices.

On Wednesday, Newsmax CEO Chris Ruddy appeared on The Howie Carr Show to discuss the situation and claimed DirecTV got exactly what it wanted.

“This is a blow. Their de-platforming of us was more than symbolic. It was vicious,” Ruddy said. “We’ve been on AT&T DirecTV for over five years, never had a real problem. We were up for renewal on our cable agreements — and like a lot of start-up channels — we weren’t paid a license fee.

“You can really only make it in cable with license fees. All the top 100 channels get paid. And we now have a big audience. We’re the fourth-highest cable news channel, top 16 of several hundred channels, and every other cable operator agreed to pay us a very small fee. DirecTV said ‘We’re not gonna pay you a dime. We’re not gonna pay you a penny. We’re paying you nothing.’ Then they wanted half our advertising block and all sorts of crazy stuff, and they understand that basically not having money, they demonetized us, which effectively censors us, and that was the goal.”

Ruddy later claimed the satellite provider offered 22 “liberal-leaning” news channels but said both OAN and Newsmax — which are “right-leaning” — have been “de-platformed” in the last year.

DirecTV reportedly balked at paying Newsmax a carriage fee because the cable outlet streams its programs for free, pointing to its offering on Roku as an example of why it shouldn’t offer the cable channel — which launched in 2014 — a subscriber fee.

“On multiple occasions, we made it clear to Newsmax that we wanted to continue to offer the network, but ultimately Newsmax’s demands for rate increases would have led to significantly higher costs that we would have to pass on to our broad customer base,” a DirecTV spokesperson said.

The decision by DirecTV has been met with opposition from Congressional Republicans. 42 Republican representatives sent a letter to DirecTV questioning the decision.

“I am sure that DirecTV will claim that removing Newsmax from their lineup of channels was purely a business decision, but that is hard to accept when liberal news channels like Vice Media continue to remain on the air,” the letter authored by Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-TX) and co-signed by 41 others said. “Vice is a ratings failure for DirecTV, yet they continue to profit from their relationship with DirecTV.”

I am really excited about this year’s Summit. The venue is tremendous, the agenda is coming together nicely, and there’s no doubt we’ll have great weather when we gather in LA. Some have asked me why I don’t reveal the full schedule of sessions months in advance, and it’s because I believe in swinging for the fences and trying to do big things. Outkick’s Tomi Lahren Claims She’s Targeted for Political Beliefs

Fox News contributor Gianno Caldwell claimed he was kicked out of a Miami restaurant last weekend for his political views. According to Fox News Digital, the owner of the restaurant approached Caldwell and said that she had been listening to his conversation and that he wasn’t welcomed there. 

“I can’t believe that me being a black man in America, to give my views on conservatism, which I believe saved my life, my Christian values saved my life and the lives of many other people that I know, to be told that I cannot be in an establishment. This makes no sense to me. 

Political commentator Tomi Lahren offered her thoughts about the issue during her “Tomi Lahren is Fearless Podcast” on Tuesday. 

“Not only is he (Gianno) a damn good political commentator, he’s also a great person, and an upstanding gentleman, and I’m proud to call him my friend. If Gianno was a liberal Al Sharpton would have been down there leading a protest and a lawsuit.” 

Lahren suggested that people have been emboldened to treat conservatives differently because there are no consequences for discriminating against someone who thinks differently. 

“This lady was so triggered by a differing viewpoint that she eavesdropped to hear and had to ask Gianno to leave the establishment. Welcome to 2023 where so-called woke progressives have brought back their own form of ideological Jim Crow,” she said. 

“I know this kind of thing well,” added Lahren. “It happened to me a few years back in Minneapolis. Except in my case, the patrons chanted bitched at me and threw water at me and my parents.”

Dana Loesch Calls Out Hollywood Reporter for ‘Woke’ Tweet

The 95th Academy Awards are a little less than three months away but already some pundits believe the nomination list is being politicized in the media. Nationally syndicated radio host Dana Loesch on Tuesday accused the Hollywood Reporter of taking a “woke” approach after it tweeted about Michelle Yeoh’s nomination for Best Actress. 

The website posted that Yeoh, who was born in Malaysia to Chinese parents, was the first person who “identifies as Asian” to be nominated for Best Actress at the Academy Awards.

“How else is she going to identify?” Loesch said. “Seriously, do you now get to pick your ethnicity? Come on, for real, how dumb is this going to be?” 

In an article Tuesday, The Hollywood Reporter said, “while some consider 1936 lead actress nominee Merle Oberon (for The Dark Angel) the first Asian nominee, she didn’t identify as such and hid her heritage to pass as white.” 

“The distinction that they’re trying to make here is ridiculous,” added Loesch. “They did this because they are so woke. I hope that she (Yeoh) says something about this if she wins.” 

“I’m glad I got nominated. Otherwise, hell, man, I wouldn’t know what to do,” Yeoh told the website. “When they were calling out the names, I was like ‘If they don’t call my name, what am I gonna say to the people who have had so much belief in me?’

Nick Clegg: Donald Trump Must Play By Rules After Meta Reinstates Accounts

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, announced that it was ending its two-year suspension of accounts held by former President Donald Trump. According to The Hill, the suspension will be lifted in the coming weeks. 

Nick Clegg, Meta President for Global Affairs, told Fox News’ “Special Report” with Bret Baier Wednesday that there will be guardrails in place if Trump decides to use those platforms again. 

“He’s gotta play by the rules,” said Clegg. “We are announcing some additional ones today to encourage him to stick to the rules that exist when people use Facebook and Instagram.” 

Trump was suspended in the wake of the Jan 6th riots at the U.S. Capitol. The mainstream media and Big Tech alleged the events of that fateful day amounted to an insurrection. His Twitter account was reinstated in November when Elon Musk completed the purchase of the company.

“At the end of the day we believe that the American people should hear from and including on our apps and services, from those who want to lead them. Trump is the former president of this country and vying to be the next president in 2024. We don’t want to stand in the way.” 

Clegg said it’s up to Trump whether he wants to use Facebook and Instagram. Last October, Trump launched Truth Social in response to his ban from Big Tech. According to Reuters, Trump has 34 million followers on Facebook and 23 million on Instagram. 

“We are not a political entity,” Clegg added. “We don’t try to make decisions which kind of help one side or the other. We believe in free and open debate. We are trying to strike the right balance between free expression, free and open political debate, while also at the same time making sure for all the users that use Facebook and Instagram. It’s an enjoyable experience.” 

If Trump agrees to return to the platforms but violates community standards, the social media outlet will remove his content, and he will be suspended for between one month and two years.
