Mike Gallagher: ‘Biased, Corrupt Media’ Looking Past Joe Biden, Ron DeSantis Lack of Communication

0

As Hurricane Ian prepares to make landfall in southwest Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) said he hadn’t spoken personally with President Joe Biden yesterday. Mike Gallagher, a Tampa resident, pointed out the difference in coverage and how that would compare to previous coverage under former President Trump.

“If it was Donald Trump not communicating with a Democrat governor, the media would be all over it,” The Mike Gallagher Show host said. “The media is ignoring the snafu from Karine Jean-Pierre saying he met with only Democratic Mayors of southwest Florida.

“But nothing to see here, a President not reaching out to a Governor during a time of crisis. The double standard never ceases to amaze me. It’s clearly a product of a biased, corrupt media where they constantly look the other way.”

DeSantis and Biden did speak Tuesday. DeSantis told Fox News host Sean Hannity he was “thankful” for the Biden administration’s expedited pre-landfall declaration before Hurricane Ian makes landfall.

Greta Van Susteren: ‘Roger Ailes Never Laid Off One Person’

0

CNN has reportedly laid off several employees in their audio division, and Newsmax host Greta Van Susteren commented on the reduction by pointing to one of her old bosses.

“Roger Ailes never laid off one person in 14 (years) I was there, including 2008,” Van Susteren tweeted of the disgraced former Fox News CEO. The 2008 reference is in regards to the economic and financial crisis.

“He said he remembered as a child that his father was laid off and that his father was so upset,” Van Susteren continued of Ailes.

The former Fox News CEO resigned in 2016 after accusations of sexual harassment from several staffers. He received $65 million in an exit agreement. Ailes died in 2017 at the age of 77.

Van Susteren later tweeted “it is very difficult, financially and self esteem, to be laid off. And in my opinion it is mostly because the managers didn’t manage the company well.”

A CNN spokesperson told Bloomberg the company has “refined our strategy to focus our resources more specifically” in the podcast and audio space. Warner Brothers is reportedly working on a $3 billion cost saving measure since its April merger with Discovery.

Rich Zeoli: Roxborough School Shooting Won’t Get National Media Coverage Due to ‘Gang-Related’ Nature

0

One teenager is dead and four others were injured after two gunmen fired nearly 70 shots during football practice at Roxborough High School in Philadelphia. 1210 WPHT host Rich Zeoli noted the lack of national media attention to the story, saying it didn’t fit the usual school shooting narrative that drives much of the related coverage.

“There’s no question in my mind what happened here at the high school was gang-related,” Zeoli said. “No doubt. I think you’d have to be foolish to think otherwise. So it won’t make national news because of that. Because this is just part of the ongoing criminal problem in Philadelphia, the criminal crisis that we have in the city of Philadelphia right now. And because it’s not a lone wolf walking in with an AR-15, it’s not going to make the national news. I just checked The New York Times website. It’s not there, certainly not on the front page for sure.

“I know there’s a hurricane coming towards Florida but typically the media would stop everything that they’re doing to focus on a school shooting but when everybody knows this is gang related and everybody knows this is the kind of stuff that goes on in Philadelphia daily, it’s particularly hurtful because it was kids at football practice, but this city is under siege by criminals.”

Raycom Sports Developing New Content After Archived Interviews Purchase

0

Raycom Sports has purchased the Jim Moskovitz Sports Archives and will create new content centered around the archived interviews.

Radio shows Instant Replay with Pat Summerall, Pat Summerall’s Sports in America, and Instant Replay with Ron MacLean were all included in Raycom’s purchase. Television shows The Tim McCarver Show, Grand Slam! hosted by Dick Schaap, and 12 Greatest Rounds of Boxing were also included in the deal.

“Our archives tell the human interest story of sports from the past nearly 70 years through interviews with the men and women who made it happen,” says Jim Moskovitz, creator, writer, executive producer and president of JOY-CPW.  “With consumer appetite for sports programming continuing to skyrocket, the archives provide an incredible wealth of interviews with a broad array of icons in sports. We are looking forward to working with Raycom Sports to bring new and exciting content to sports fans and to the advertisers that support them.”

The new content will be produced by Jim Moskovitz-owned JOY-CPW. JOY-CPW is the producer of Game Time With Boomer Esiason, a broadcast television series hosted by the former NFL QB and current WFAN morning co-host. The program airs on 333 television stations and also recently added a podcast under the same name.

FS1 Nearing Broadcast Deal With LIV Golf

0

According to a report from Eamon Lynch of GolfWeek, LIV Golf is nearing completion of a deal with FS1 to air their tournaments on the cable network.

LIV Golf would be buying the time on cable, rather than receiving a rights fee from FOX Sports for the events.

Two weeks ago, LIV CEO Greg Norman told ESPN 100 interest from broadcasters was “enormous”, noting that four different networks were pitching deals to the tour.

According to Lynch, LIV “struck out” with NBC, CBS, Disney, Apple, and Amazon before FOX CEO Lachlan Murdoch pushed his company to enter negotiations with the controversial Saudi-backed tour.

“There were people at Fox who wanted nothing to do with this,” a source told Lynch. “They were forced to do it.”

Furthermore, LIV Golf requested a rights fee for the second year of the contract and a guarantee that some events would air on network television. Fox has reportedly declined both of those terms.

New Bill O’Reilly Book Discusses Dramatic Shift in Cultural History

0

Political commentator and best-selling author Bill O’Reilly released a new book called “Killing the Legends: The Lethal Danger of Celebrity. This marks the 12th book in the Killing series.

O’Reilly appeared on “The Chris Stigall Show” Tuesday to discuss what readers can expect. He said the book examines the legacies and tragic deaths of Elvis Presley, John Lennon, and Muhammad Ali.

“This book is a pretty dramatic shift into cultural history,” said O’Reilly. “This is not Abraham Lincoln or George Patton; this is history that we are living right now,” he said.

He said readers will learn about the cultural relevance of the three men.

“I find that fascinating, so we wanted to tell the story about how they were titans but how they got crushed under the weight of celebrity,” he said.

O’Reilly added that being a celebrity is worse today than it was when Presley, Lennon, and Ali were alive.

“Two of the most famous guys in the country today are Trump and Biden,” he said. “Both have suffered by their own hand. I’m not making excuses, but Presley, Lennon, and Ali made choices, they’re not victims.”

O’Reilly said this book will expose the betrayal that the men experienced and the part they played in it.

Erick Erickson Defends KJP Over Tomahawk Chop Cheer

0

Atlanta-based syndicated radio host Erick Erickson came to the defense of White House Press Secretary Karin Jean-Pierre Tuesday after an exchange with a reporter involving the Atlanta Braves.

The team visited the White House Monday to celebrate its 2021 World Series championship. Jean-Pierre was asked about Biden’s position on the team’s name and the fans’ celebratory “tomahawk chop” cheer.

“Her response is what Major League Baseball’s guidelines set out for teams who use names that are affiliated with Native Americans,” Erickson said. “It’s exactly what the Braves did, and I do not expect her to know that.”

Erickson was critical of Jean-Pierre for not being prepared for the question.

“But she’s also not a very bright person,” he said. “I am not surprised she wasn’t briefed.”

According to the New York Post, Jean-Pierre told reporters that the White House believes it’s important to have conversations about “Native American and indigenous voices.”

“People are fine with the tomahawk chop; only aggrieved activists have a problem with it. It’s the reporter who stirred the pot, not the press secretary. It’s the reporter who should get the blame for bringing this up,” Erickson added.

Arrest Made in Murder of WWJ Anchor Jim Matthews

0

Police have made an arrest in the case of slain WWJ Newsradio anchor Jim Matthews. According to the station’s website, Arthur Williamson, 54, is facing seven felonies related the case, including first-degree murder.

Williamson is a convicted felon who was reportedly known to the family. However, the extent of the relationship is still unclear. Matthews lived in Chesterfield Township, about 34 miles outside of Detroit.

According to reports, Matthews may have invited Williamson into his home early Friday morning. Several hours later, Matthews’ girlfriend fled the residence along with his five-year-old daughter and flagged down a neighbor who called the police.

Once police arrived, they forced their way inside the residence, and that’s when they discovered Matthews and his 10-year-old son, who was beaten and bound inside a closet.

Authorities discovered Williamson in the basement, overdosing on heroin and suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police said they administered Narcan to reverse the effects of the overdose.

Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido said Williamson was a “welcomed” guest.

“So that means he had the access by way of being intentionally allowed into the home, and not somebody who broke into the home,” he added.

Prosecutors expect more charges as evidence collection evolves.
