The 2022 Winter Olympics will be occurring this month in Beijing, and while some media outlets are focusing on the sports and athletes, CNN will be doing something.

On his show, “The Lead with Jake Tapper,” Jake Tapper announced that CNN plans to track the “horrors” committed by the Chinese government, which start on Friday.

The Chinese Communist Party is accused of executing human rights violations against its primarily Muslim Uyghurs in its far west Xinjiang region.

Tapper stated he will spend a part of each show during the Olympics covering the reported atrocities being committed by Beijing with a new segment called “Behind China’s Wall.”

“Behind the fanfare and the glamor of the upcoming Olympic Games are a lot of ugly truths that the Chinese government wants you to ignore,” Tapper said.

“CNN’s David Culver sets the scene with a look at the horrors President XI wants to you forget about while you’re cheering on some of your favorite athletes this week.”

The network then aired a pre-recorded piece from Culver, where he laid out proof of China’s abuses or aggression in both Xinjiang and Taiwan.
