The Los Angeles Dodgers are shaking things up with the crew that calls their games on TV and radio. The team announced five new additions across TV and radio and across the Spanish and English language broadcasts on Tuesday.
On TV, Joe Davis will get some new partners. Eric Karros, Jessica Mendoza, and Dontrelle Willis will all join SportsNet LA for select games this season. They will each serve as Davis’s game analyst at varying points on road trips. Karros and Willis will also spend time in the studio as analysts on SportsNet LA’s pregame and postgame coverage.
Orel Hershiser remains the analyst on home games. Lon Rosen, the Dodgers’EVP and chief marketing officer, told the Los Angeles Times that the decision was made by Hershiser, who wants to cut back on his schedule.
Adrián González is also joining SportsNet LA. He will be a studio analyst on the network.
José Mota is joining the Dodgers’ radio crew. He will be heard on both the English and Spanish radio calls as an analyst. He spent the last 20 years on the Angles’ radio broadcasts but has a family connection to the Dodgers. His dad, Manny Mota, played 14 seasons in LA and has remained active with the Dodgers franchise.
The new additions do not mean anyone is leaving. The Los Angeles Times reports that Jaime Jarrín, Fernando Valenzuela, Charley Steiner, Rick Monday, Nomar Garciaparra, Pepe Yñiguez, Jerry Hairston Jr., John Hartung, Tim Neverett and Kirsten Watson will all return in 2022.
