Good Karma Brands is making changes in Chicago. The company announced Thursday via Twitter that Carmen and Jurko are moving back by two hours on ESPN 1000.
The show will trade slots with Greeny, which is syndicated via ESPN Radio. The move will allow Mike Greenberg’s show to air on a one-hour delay as opposed to being replayed after it is complete.
Producer Randy Merkin announced on the show Thursday that the change happens on Monday, April 4. It represents a return to the early afternoon slot for Carmen & Jurko. Merkin said that the move means that listeners will hear the duo do crosstalk every day with Waddle and Silvy and that they will be able to be on the road on Fridays during the football season.
The lineup shuffle also comes with some change. Merkin is leaving the show to move to a behind the scenes role at ESPN 1000. He will be replaced by Chris Bleck and Adam Abdalla. The duo will continue to host the station’s nighttime show when there is no White Sox game.
Carmen DeFalco pointed out that the producer move gives Bleck and Abdalla the chance to do more prep for their own show, instead of rolling right onto the air from producing Waddle & Silvy in afternoon drive.
