So just who is the favorite to land the studio host gig as Thursday Night Football moves to Amazon? The conventional wisdom has been that Kay Adams exiting Good Morning Football was a sign that she’d be named for the job sooner rather than later. Micheal McCarthy of Front Office Sports reports though that there are other names in the mix.
Sources have told McCarthy that Adams and Amazon do not have a deal yet. That has the streaming giant eyeing FOX’s Charissa Thompson and NFL Network’s Colleen Wolfe as possible alternatives.
Adams isn’t out of the running for the job, but Amazon is considering other options in the event that she chooses to join another of her reported suitors.
Both Wolfe and Thompson are versatile media talents. They are both used in a variety of ways by their current network employers. Thompson also offers a large footprint in the digital space with her podcast Calm Down, which she does with Erin Andrews, and her Spotify Live show We’re Good Here.
Amazon declined McCarthy’s request for comment on the story.
