Trevor Immelman To Replace Nick Faldo As Top CBS Golf Analyst

Nick Faldo will retire after the Wyndham Championship on August 7 and CBS already knows what it will do next on its top golf broadcast. Trevor Immelman will slide into the spot next to Jim Nantz.

Immelman has been on the CBS roster since 2019. He has also served as a lead analyst for other networks in the past, including Golf Channel and Turner’s coverage of The Match.

CBS Sports Chair Sean McManus said it wasn’t an easy decision. He and his team spent several months searching for a replacement after Faldo told them his plans in February.

“The name that kept coming up all the time was Trevor Immelman,” McManus said. “Trevor is a great team player. The game is becoming increasingly more international, and he’s got international pedigree. Listening to his work on the Masters, he just became the most logical and best choice.”

Immelman will enter a new deal next year beginning with the Farmers Insurance Open in January.

As for Faldo, he will stay around the game of golf. He intends to put more time into designing courses and overseeing his junior golf series.

He issued a statement on his retirement via Twitter.

“Nick’s chemistry with Jim is extraordinary; they play off each other really well,” McManus said. “He is a force of nature. He came across as being very authoritative and definitive in his opinions while never being mean-spirited or overly critical.”
