David Feherty Is Leaving NBC for LIV Golf

David Feherty has left NBC. Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reports that he is headed to LIV Golf. He is expected to be on 8-10 LIV broadcasts each year.

This is a sudden parting of ways. Feherty was part of NBC’s coverage of the Open Championship this past weekend.

Andrew Marchand asked both NBC and Feherty for comment. NBC declined. Feherty did not return the message.

LIV Golf has been in the industry news a lot lately. Last week, Charles Barkley revealed that he would take a meeting with the group about a role on their broadcast. Also, The Athletic’s Richard Deitsch answered a reader-submitted question by saying that ties to the Saudi government are not what is keeping the league off of television in the US and predicted some broadcaster would sign LIV soon.

The tour’s events currently are available via webstream in the United States on both YouTube and Facebook.

David Feherty is the second high profile name LIV has picked up from NBC. Prior to the tour’s first event in London, LIV Golf announced that it had signed Arlo White to call the action. He had been let go as NBC’s voice of Premier League soccer earlier this month.
