Several news/talk brands were nominated for the 2022 Marconi Radio Awards on Tuesday. The ceremony will be held and hosted by the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB).
KCBS Radio in San Francisco and NewsRadio 1080 KRLD in Dallas, and KTAR in Phoenix, were nominated for “Legendary Station of the Year.”
WTOP in Washington D.C. was nominated for “Major Market Station of the Year” and “Best Podcast of the Year” for its production of “American Nightmare Season 2: Murder in a Safe Place.”
Additionally, WTOP General Manager Joel Oxley and WTMJ’s Steve Wexler were nominated for “Legendary Radio Manager of The Year.”
“Coast-to-Coast” host George Noory was nominated for “Network/Syndicated Personality of the Year.”
Baltimore’s WBAL duo of C4 and Bryan Nehman and WIBC’s Tony Katz were nominated for “Large Market Personality of the Year.”
The “News Talk Station of the Year” nominees include Los Angeles’ KNX, myTalk 107.1 in Minnesota, New Jersey 101.5, Cincinnati’s WLW, and Atlanta’s WSB.
The winners will be announced at the NAB Show in New York City on Oct 19th.
