Urban One CEO: ‘No Decisions’ After Dan Dakich Controversy

After purchasing 4 Indianapolis radio stations, including 93.5/107.5 The Fan and 93.1 WIBC, Urban One CEO Alfred Liggins told The Indianapolis Star that no decisions have been made on any personnel of the stations.

The questions linger after a report from the Star’s Gregg Doyel that the Fan’s Dan Dakich told off-color jokes at a station event last month, in the presence of Urban One executives.

After reporting the original story about the off-color jokes, it appeared Doyel insinuated on Twitter that Dakich would soon be fired for his comments.

“When he’s gone from the public eye, and it won’t be long now, we’ll remember the self-immolation of Dan Dakich as one of the strangest, saddest stories in our city’s sports history,” Doyel wrote.

Alfred Liggens cut any questions or speculation about what is in store for Dakich off immediately.

“I want to preface this by saying I’m happy to talk, but I know the stations here in Indy have a few controversial personalities,” he told the Star. “I don’t have real depth of knowledge about those personalities.”
