During an appearance on The Brian Kilmeade Show Monday, former Arkansas Governor and current Fox News contributor Mike Huckabee had harsh words for the mainstream media in regards to the way former President Donald Trump is treated.
Huckabee’s comments come after Trump was criticized for hosting a LIV Golf event at his Bedminster, New Jersey golf course. The controversial golf league is funded by the Public Investment Fund from the government of Saudi Arabia.
“I just thought it relatively entertaining to see them (the mainstream media) act like it was Donald Trump’s idea,” Kilmeade said. “He has a great golf course. The PGA decided to blow him off for political reasons, and the LIV Tournament comes up and says ‘we’d like to here’. He says ‘great’. Are you amazed how they’re trying to link him to the Saudi-backed league? Which, by the way, they own two or three Premier League soccer teams.
“They’re very invested in global soccer, as well as a lot of investments here,” Kilmeade added. “We could debate this, but to see the press go out of their way to act like it was Donald Trump’s idea because he owns the golf course astounded me.”
“Nothing surprises me about the mainstream media anymore, and their hatred towards Donald Trump,” Huckabee said. “I’m looking any day for a headline that says ‘Donald Trump stole the Lindberg baby. He was the one who brought down the Hindenburg. And he started the Civil War in 1860’. Look for that any day as the headline of The New York Times,” he said in jest.
