Seattle Sports 710 Back On Air After Lightning Strike Takes Out Tower

Sports fans in Seattle can once again find sports talk on 710 AM. The over-the-air signal of Bonneville’s Seattle Sports 710 was silent for a while after lightning hit the station’s broadcast tower.

Storms rolled through the Puget Sound on Wednesday. Between Tuesday night and Wednesday afternoon, the National Forest Service reported 250 lightning strikes in the area.

The social media accounts for Seattle Sports 710 began making listeners aware of the issues with the 710 AM signal on Wednesday morning. Talent continued their shows streamed on SeattleSports.com and on the station’s app.

Residents of the area are certainly happy to see the weather pass. Tacoma and West Seattle were hit the hardest. Tacoma Public Utilities reported more than 9500 residents were without power at one point.
