Zach Gelb Questions Aaron Donald About Practice Scuffle, Gets Shut Down By Rep Mid-Interview

After a joint practice brawl saw Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald swing a pair of helmets at opposing players, many questions were raised about the incident. CBS Sports Radio host Zach Gelb secured an interview with Donald and asked questions, which a representative of Donald tried to shut down mid-interview.

“What happened last week in joint practices?” Gelb asked. “Because we all saw the video of you swinging helmets? And people were wondering what was going on there?”

““It was just a practice. Obviously, people got phones out and things like that but I’m not gonna sit and talk about negative stuff that happened at a practice. My main focus is Buffalo,” Donald said.

Gelb then asked if Donald was punished internally, which the three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year said “We talked”. Gelb then tried to ask if Donald was fearful of being suspended before a representative for Donald interjected.

“Hey Zach, we’re just gonna focus just here because Aaron’s here today to talk about Dr. Teal’s,” the unidentified rep said. “So you do have two minutes left, if you want to pivot to your last question, please.”

Gelb persisted to ask another question before getting to Donald’s pitch, wondering what sparked the joint practice scuffle. Donald sidestepped the question by going straight into his sponsor mentions.

The CBS Sports Radio host later tweeted that he was never told he couldn’t ask about the practice incident, and he wouldn’t have taken if the interview if that was the directive.
