Lotus Communications has added a new co-anchor in Seattle. Kim Shepard has joined Northwest Newsradio in Seattle as an afternoon co-anchor. She’ll be paired with Rick Van Cise. Shepard previously worked as a senior producer and announcer at iHeartMedia and KUOW-FM, an NPR station also in Seattle.
Rick Van Cise, who also serves as the program director for Northwest Newsradio, welcomed Shepard in a statement.
“Kim brings a wealth of radio experience that makes her a perfect fit for our KNWN NewsRadio family.”
Shepard added, “I feel so fortunate that my career has led me to PNW and even more fortunate that I will get to spend my next chapter at KNWN.”
On getting to know the team at her new station, Shepard continued “…it’s become clear that our goals and passions align in the best possible way: leading the future of radio with timely information from trusted voices. I’m grateful to join the chorus.”
Northwest Newsradio was previously known as KOMO Radio before rebranding in January. The Los Angeles-based Lotus Communications owns 48 radio stations around the country and was formed in 1962.
