CNN has announced the name and start date of it’s revamped morning show.
Don Lemon, Poppy Harlow, and Kaitlan Collins will anchor CNN This Morning, which will debut on November 1st.
“We’re going to put the full power of CNN’s newsgathering on display because we can do that better than anybody,” CNN Senior Vice President of Content Strategy Ryan Kadro told the Associated Press.
CNN This Morning is one of the first lineup changes made by current CNN CEO and President Chris Licht. The network is also adding Jake Tapper to fill the 9:00 PM ET show which had been handled on an interim basis after the dismissal of Chris Cuomo nearly a year ago. After Lemon’s move from primetime to mornings, the 10:00 PM-12:00 AM ET timeslot will be occupied by a show hosted by Alisyn Camerota and Laura Coates.
Licht and Kadro helped launch a similarly titled show, CBS This Morning, while working at that network. That show has since rebranded to CBS Mornings.
CNN This Morning will air weekdays from 6:00-9:00 AM ET.
