Charlie Kirk Target of Violent Protestors At University of New Mexico

Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk had an appearance at the University of New Mexico which reportedly sparked violent protests Wednesday.

According to KRQE-TV, police were at the event in riot gear, and things got heated as they tried to move the protesters away from the event.

Kirk joined the “Tucker Carlson Show” Thursday to discuss the incident. He questioned whether the protestors were paid and what they were doing on campus.

“It’s really interesting when you try to show up on a college campus and do an optional, voluntary event and how angry the other side gets,” Kirk said. “This is a very important moment for people to recognize and understand.”

Kirk said that the “radical left” is acting like the same violent extremists that the entire federal government is organized to go after.

“I wonder who is financing the protestors and who is behind this?” Kirk surmised. “This is the third time this semester that an event on this campus had to be canceled or ended abruptly.”

Three people were reportedly detained before being given a summons and escorted off campus.

“I went there on a personal mission,” added Kirk. “I went there to send a message to every one of these people, that we are going to stand for free speech and you are not going to be able to disrupt our events or bully our students.”
