Salem Media host Mike Gallagher expressed bewilderment Tuesday about Joy Reid’s position on free speech. The “ReidOut” host has been an outspoken critic of Elon Musk ever since he officially acquired Twitter.
Last year, many pundits were praising Musk after Time Magazine named him its “Person of the Year.” The CEO of Tesla and SpaceX was heralded for framing the future of automobiles and space travel.
In the last several months, Musk has been dubbed an enemy of free speech by many pundits, including Reid. Several weeks ago, she said Musk “facilitated the return of fascist trolls to fix Twitter in the name of free speech.”
Gallagher said that no matter what people’s differences are he tries to understand where someone is coming from. He said when it comes to social media, everyone should have a voice.
“There are two big issues to me in which there is absolutely zero dispute, liberal and conservative voices should be allowed to be published on a website like Twitter,” he said. “The left doesn’t even want conservative views to be heard. People who aren’t recognizing how profound this is are making a big mistake.
Gallagher pointed out that Reid has a propensity to say, “hateful things” citing the time when Reid referred to Musk as the “apartheid child.”
“Is that hateful?” Gallagher said. “Of course, she’s a hateful person. There’s no question about her viciousness on a regular basis. As a progressive she gets away with it. Incidentally, if that’s all MSNBC wants to do morning, noon, and night, they don’t watch MSNBC.”
He added, “if you don’t want to see a conservative voice on Twitter, don’t go on Twitter.”
