Neal Boortz Hosting ‘Fair Tax Forum’ for XTRA 106.3 Thursday

After nearly a decade in retirement, Neal Boortz will join XTRA 106.3 in Atlanta Thursday for a special live broadcast.

Boortz will join Carlos Medina from 9:00-10:00 AM on Thursday, January 26th to discuss the “Fair Tax”. Boortz was one of the original proponents of the Fair Tax in the 1990s, and co-authored a book in 2005 on the subject with former Congressman John Linder.

The FairTax Book accompanied a piece of legislation that encouraged the replacement of the IRS and all federal income, payroll, corporate, capital gains, gift, and estate taxes with a national sales tax. The law did not pass, however.

Congressional Republicans have considered reinvigorating the proposal, which piqued Boortz’s interest in returning to the airwaves for this one-time event. The purported plan would include a 23% sales tax to replace the federal income tax.

“The FairTax would be the largest transfer of power from government to the people in the history of our Republic,” Boortz said. “There, I just told you why so many politicians oppose this.”

A National Radio Hall of Famer, Boortz ended his nationally-syndicated radio show in 2013 after a 20-year run at Atlanta’s WSB. He continued a daily commentary on the station until 2019, shifting to a daily commentary on XTRA 106.3 in 2022.

Hosting the Fair Tax Forum for the XTRA 106.3 will mark the first longform radio program he has hosted since his retirement.
