The partnership between NBCUniversal and PointsBet will continue for two additional years.
The original deal between the two sides was done in 2020 and good for five years. So this will take the contracted partnership into 2027.
As part of the agreement, NBCUniversal now owns an equity stake in PointsBet and has made the company the exclusive sports betting partner of NBC Sports.
PointsBet will now see a slight reduction in the ad spending requirement it currently operates under. The company had $90 million per year under the original deal, and according to Axios that figure will come down to $58 million.
The goal is to help PointsBet focus on advertising in the 14 states it’s licensed in to operate a sportsbook.
