Colin Cowherd Says He Was Offered a Political Talk Show

Could you picture Colin Cowherd with a political talk show on one of these cable news networks? Cowherd says he’s been approached in the past with opportunities outside of sports talk.

On Tuesday’s edition of The Herd on FOX Sports Radio, Cowherd explained why he thought he just wasn’t the best fit.

“Years and years ago – this has happened twice in my career – where somebody in the political media has said, ‘Would you come to our network and do politics?'” Cowherd said. “And I always say the same thing: I’m too happy to do politics. I don’t manufacture outrage. I’m outraged maybe once a year.”

Colin pointed to the January jobs report, in which the Bureau of Labor Statistics indicated the U.S. unemployment rate hit 3.4 percent, the lowest in 53 years. He was making a broader point about LeBron James and mentioned some of the great things he’s accomplished for the community in his career. James is going to pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the NBA’s all-time scoring lead this week.

“You used to be able to just celebrate kindness and celebrate cool and celebrate good weather and celebrate a good jobs report. Everybody’s bitter,” Cowherd said. “Everybody’s angry. Nobody likes anybody. They hate Trudeau in Canada, they don’t like Biden here. We don’t like anybody. We don’t like our commissioners.”
