Derek Jeter To Join FOX For MLB Coverage

Despite previously indicating that he did not have an interest in broadcasting, Yankees legend Derek Jeter will be trying his hand at television in 2023.

During FOX’s pre-game coverage of Super Bowl LVII, Jeter was revealed to be joining the network’s MLB crew.

Jeter’s former Yankees teammate Alex Rodriguez was on hand alongside Curt Menefee and Michael Strahan to help make the announcement. A-Rod presented Derek Jeter with a pinstriped FOX Sports jersey with Jeter’s name and number (2) on the back.

“I was on set at the World Series in Philly, and (David) Ortiz kept showing me his World Series ring,” Jeter said. “So I figured I’d just join the team now and keep him humbled a little bit.”

Jeter was rumored to have been a person of interest for YES Network to join coverage of the Yankees, but the network had not engaged in formal talks with the former shortstop as of November last year.
