Questions abounded about how the NFL on FOX booth of Kevin Burkhardt and Greg Olsen would handle their first Super Bowl broadcast. If you asked Ramon, Kayla, & Will of 104.5 The Zone, it was a smashing success.
“Kevin Burkhardt and Greg Olsen crushed it on FOX in their first Super Bowl together,” Will Boling said. “I thought the way — specifically — the way Greg Olsen handled the holding penalty at the end of the game was outstanding. Gave the audience a different perspective, and didn’t just agree with Mike Pereira as soon as Mike Pereira told him it was a foul, and still went back to it and gave his thoughts on it. He’s an offensive guy. I thought it was a really good job by them. I thought the booth was tremendous the whole game.”
Both Ramon Foster and Kayla Anderson agreed, saying they both have grown to enjoy the commentary provided by Greg Olsen.
“I just hope it doesn’t turn into what people thought about Tony Romo,” Anderson added. “A lot of people loved Tony in the beginning, and then he just went rogue. I don’t think Greg’s gonna do that.”
The show then questioned how Tom Brady fits into the plans for FOX Sports, questioning if they can truly move Greg Olsen to the “b-team” for the network, saying Olsen deserves FOX’s top spot.
