Dan Dakich: Stephen A. Smith is Talking Just to Hear Himself Talk

Stephen A. Smith had a strong opinion earlier this week that Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is the reason the franchise’s offensive coordinator — Eric Bienemy — hasn’t secured a head coaching position. OutKick.com’s Dan Dakich was adamant that Stephen A. Smith was wrong for that opinion.

During his Don’t @ Me program Thursday, Dakich played the clip of Smith’s comments saying Reid never won a title until he was joined by Bieniemy and ultimately the reason the Black offensive coordinator hasn’t received a head coaching job.

“I know we know it’s true, we’re just hesitant,” Smith said in the clip. “But when we think about what’s holding Bieniemy back, it’s Andy Reid.”

“I’ve had enough. Listen to that idiot,” said Dakich. “I had him on my radio show one time and I’m like ‘Yeah, ok’, and he’s like ‘Why did you cut me off?’ and I’m like ‘Cause you’re just talking. You’re not making sense. You’re just talking just to hear yourself talk.'”

After Dakich’s conversation with Dan Zaksheske of OutKick concluded, he reiterated his interaction with Smith on his former show on 107.5 The Fan in Indianapolis wasn’t a pleasant one.

“I had him on my show one time and he was complaining ‘I didn’t get a chance to talk about the Pacers’. He talked about stupid stuff, and truthfully — if you listen to Stephen A. — he doesn’t know anything about basketball. It’s just ridiculous to me. We all got to cater, we all got to pander, I get it. If you don’t pander, you’re a racist. If you don’t cater, you’re a racist. If Eric Bieniemy doesn’t get a job, you’re a racist. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

“It’s just so stupid. I can’t even listen to it anymore,” concluded Dakich.
