AEW is reportedly ready to step up its game. The professional wrestling promotion is in negotiations with Warner Bros. Discovery to add a third weekly show to its schedule.
Currently, wrestling fans can catch AEW action on TV twice each week. Dynamite airs live Wednesday nights on TBS and Rampage airs Fridays on TNT.
Andrew Zarian of the YouTube show Mat Men, reports that the company will announce a third TV show. This comes on the heels of Fightful’s report that AEW talent have been told that a third TV show was in the works. In that report, Fightful mentioned that the new show would likely air on Saturdays.
Tony Khan, AEW’s owner and GM, has been dropping hints that AEW was ready to expand its offerings. Earlier this month he tweeted that the company had “major announcements” on the way. After the AEW Revolution pay-per-view event, he said that the company had “the capacity to do more and more TV if that opportunity presented itself and I think there is demand for it.”
Rumors also began circulating last month that the company is considering launching a streaming service. If that happens, it is another chance for AEW to take advantage of its partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery, which owns HBO Max.
In addition to what is on television, AEW matches can be found on YouTube on Mondays and Tuesdays. A new TV show would give wrestling fans access to the company’s top matches five days per week.
