SiriusXM radio host Howard Stern criticized mainstream media outlets, particularly MSNBC, for their excessive coverage of former President Donald Trump’s potential indictment and arrest. On a recent episode of “The Howard Stern Show,” Stern expressed his frustration with the constant speculation surrounding Trump’s legal situation, which has yet to be determined.
“I was watching MSNBC; they were going f—— berserk with, you know, Trump potentially being arrested,” he said.
According to Fox News Digital, Stern expressed annoyance at how the pundits on the news channels were repeatedly discussing the same topic without any new developments. He mocked their repetitive language and constant use of speculative phrases, such as “It’s possible that President Trump will be indicted according to….” Stern advised the media to sit tight and wait for actual news instead of constantly speculating.
Co-host Robin Quivers agreed with Stern and criticized news shows for treating politics like a sport, where discussions are filled with speculation like before a big game. Stern agreed and commented that the media networks needed to fill 24 hours of airtime, so they had to resort to creating sensational content.
“That’s right; you don’t have to speculate. See, this is what my problem is with those news shows, and they treat politics like sports. When something like the Super Bowl is coming up, you have two weeks to discuss what’s gonna happen in the Super Bowl,” she added.
Stern also pointed out that Trump had been the one drumming up the news of his potential arrest in the first place, and all the media networks seemed to be taking him at his word. The former president’s announcement led to a frenzy of coverage, but as Stern pointed out, Trump doesn’t know what’s happening.
