When the new MLB season begins next Thursday, MLB Network will be rolling out a new-look edition of MLB Tonight. MLB Network announced on Thursday that Harold Reynolds and Adnan Virk will be the duo hosting the 6 PM ET edition of the show starting on March 30.
Reynolds and Virk will host two special editions of the show at noon and 4 PM ET on Opening Day before shifting to their normal 6 PM ET time slot on March 31.
Reynolds was hosting the late edition of MLB Tonight that was more focused on providing live look-ins. The late night edition won’t change focus but the belief is that Reynolds and Virk will bring a fresh and consistent approach to the program.
“I’m thrilled about the chance to work with the talented Adnan Virk as this is going to be one of the most creative pregame shows ever,” Reynolds said. “We’re going to use all our bells and whistles. I’ll be at the park for interviews with players and coaches, we’ll do demos on our field in Studio 42, and bring analysis that you won’t find anywhere else. This show is going to touch on everything going on in our sport.”
For Virk, he finds a more concrete role at MLB Network after spending the last four years hosting a variety of different programming.
“I’m thrilled to have been at MLB Network for the last four years and now to have found a home on the 6,” Virk said. “If you’re a baseball fan, there’s no better place to get prepared for the night’s action and be up to date on all that’s happening in our great sport. To be alongside my friend and Emmy Award winner Harold Reynolds, makes this latest journey all the more sweeter.”
