Silicon Valley Bank Collapse Leads to Boosts For CNBC, Fox Business

The economy was heavily in the news focus to begin the week of Mar. 13, following the sudden collapse of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB). It marked the largest U.S. bank failure since the 2007-08 financial crisis. Within the first two weeks of March, SVB, Silvergate Bank, and Signature Bank, all collapsed. Major companies like Roku and Roblox had significant funds associated with SVB.

On Mar. 13, just prior to the 9:30 a.m. ET opening of the U.S. markets on Wall Street, President Biden held a five-minute press conference to assure protection for SVB customers and depositors while none would be available to investors and shareholders.
