The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced the nominees for the 2023 Sports Emmy Awards coming up next month, and NFL Network and NBC both received 10 nominations.
Specifically, NFL Network’s documentary news anthology show NFL 360 and NBC’s coverage of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics are what racked up the nods.
NFL 360 received nominations for outstanding edited special (two separate nominations), outstanding hosted edited series, outstanding journalism, outstanding long feature, outstanding interactive experience – original programming, outstanding short-form camera work, outstanding long-form camera work (two separate nominations) and outstanding music direciton.
The Olympic coverage from NBC was nominated for outstanding live special, outstanding open/tease, outstanding interactive experience – event coverage, outstanding digital innovation, outstanding technical team event, outstanding technical team studio, outstanding short form editing, outstanding live event audio/sound, outstanding event/show graphic design, outstanding promotional announcement, as well as a nomination for the George Wensel Technical Achievement Award.
ESPN received 42 nominations.
The 44th Sports Emmy Awards are on Monday, May 22 at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York.
