CNBC Anchor Hadley Gamble Accuses Ousted NBCUniversal CEO of Sexual Harassment

NBCUniversal CEO Jeff Shell was fired after an investigation into “inappropriate conduct” was launched. Now, CNBC anchor Hadley Gamble is accusing Shell of sexual harassment.

Gamble’s lawyer, Suzanne McKie, said: “The investigation into Mr. Shell arose from a complaint by my client of sexual harassment and sex discrimination.”

However, she was unhappy that Gamble had been identified as the accuser.

“Given these circumstances, it is very disappointing that my client’s name has been released and her privacy violated,” she added.

Gamble’s involvement in the situation was first reported by Deadline.

In a filing with the SEC Monday, Comcast wrote “Following a complaint that Jeffrey Shell, CEO of NBCUniversal, engaged in inappropriate conduct with a female employee, including allegations of sexual harassment, Comcast Corporation (the “Company”) retained outside counsel to investigate the allegations,” according to a report from NBC News. “During the investigation, evidence was uncovered that corroborated the allegations. As a consequence, on April 23, 2023, the Company terminated Mr. Shell’s employment With Cause under his employment agreement, effective immediately.”

The Deadline report claims there were communications between Shell and Gamble that were uncovered in company emails. The same report alleges a relationship between Shell and Gamble began in 2012 and “continued sporadically” until it ended a few years ago. However, Shell is accused of trying to reignite the relationship, which Gamble declined.

Gamble reportedly raised concerns about Shell during an impasse in contract negotiations. She has not appeared on the network since last week.
