WABC Radio host Curtis Sliwa expressed his displeasure at being a part of a Newsmax TV panel on Rob Schmitt Tonight, where the topic of discussion was the recent subway killing of Jordan Neely. Sliwa appeared on Sid and Friends in the Morning.
During their conversation, the pair talked about Jordan Neely, a 30-year-old street artist recognized for his Michael Jackson impersonations. He was pinned down and put in a deadly chokehold by another passenger after he began yelling that he was famished, thirsty, and felt like he had nothing to live for.
“I’m a subway expert. Why would I have anyone else on with me? Sliwa asked. “Some guy from Rochester, New York, that’s never taken a subway in his life.”
Sid Rosenberg informed Sliwa that he missed watching the segment as he was appearing with Jesse Watters on Fox News during the same time.
“So, you’re telling me that Jesse Watters has a one-on-one with Sid Rosenberg and Curtis Sliwa, who knows subways and crime more than anybody else in New York City, had to share a Hollywood Squares box?”
Typically, split-screen interviews are utilized when the interviewer and interviewee are geographically separated or when multiple guests are being interviewed at the same time. These interviews allow viewers to watch both the interviewer and interviewee simultaneously and any visual aids or graphics that may be presented on the screen.
“That’s why Jesse Watters does so much better than what’s his name I appeared with,” Sliwa said. “You keep doing Hollywood Squares, pal, with some guy from Rochester who never took the subway.”
