Tim Wenger Inducted to Buffalo Broadcasters Hall of Fame

After graduating from Oswego State University in 1986, Tim Wenger began his career at WBEN Radio. He gained experience as a news anchor and helicopter traffic reporter and worked his way up the ranks. Wednesday, he was recognized for his accomplishments by being inducted into the Buffalo Broadcasters Association Hall-of-Fame class of 2023 along with his colleagues. 

Susan Wenger, the wife of Tim Wenger and co-host of A New Morning, shared on Twitter that her husband has been chosen to be part of the 2023 Hall of Fame class. Susan herself was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2022. 

At Audacy Buffalo, Wenger oversees the news and sports radio stations, NewsRadio 930 WBEN, WGR SportsRadio 550, and ESPN 1520. He also serves as the Vice President in charge of the News/Talk format for Audacy.

Each year, the Buffalo Broadcasters Association honors exceptional broadcasters for their devoted careers in broadcasting during the September Annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. 

Tim Wenger is a speaker at the 2023 BNM Summit in Nashville. The two-day news media conference will be held at Vanderbilt University on September 13-14, 2023. 

The 2023 BBA Hall of Fame inductees are: 

  • Jeff Glor, an anchor, and reporter for CBS News. 
  • Maria Genero, a weather anchor for WGRZ-TV. 
  • Janet Snyder, the morning host for WKSE-FM radio. 
  • Jerry Reo, a retired radio disc jockey and programmer. 
  • Kurt Murphy, an art director at WIVB-TV. 
  • Tim Wenger, an operations manager for WBEN/WGR/WKBW
  • Christine Baranski, a famous actor in movies, on stage, and on television
