Andre Ward Says He is Out at ESPN

ESPN Top Rank Boxing analyst Andre Ward contributed to his final broadcast over the weekend, the former two-division world champion and Olympic gold medalist revealed Sunday on Twitter.

Ward had signed a three-year contract extension back in 2020 to remain a Top Rank personality. He retired from boxing with a career record of 32-0 in 2017.

“It’s been a great ride and I’m going to miss the whole ESPN crew that I’ve worked with for the last six years,” Ward wrote in a statement.

While Ward joins a long list of recent on-camera personalities that exited The Worldwide Leader over the last several days, Ward wasn’t technically among those officially laid off by the network.

Ward expressed optimism that while his time with ESPN is done, he’s got some other things coming down the pipeline.

“I’m excited about my future and the chance to work on new projects and endeavors,” he said. “Great things are ahead.”
