670 The Score Honors Pat Hughes Leading Up To Hall of Fame Induction

As the winner of the Ford Frick Award, Chicago Cubs radio voice Pat Hughes will be honored at the National Baseball Hall of Fame’s induction weekend in Cooperstown next week. The Cubs’ flagship station, 670 The Score, is paying tribute.

On Friday, July 21, the station will air a three-hour retrospective on the broadcaster called Pat’s Call to the Hall. Hughes’ broadcast partners Ron Coomer and Zach Zaidman will serve as hosts.

The special will feature a number of interviews from friends, colleagues, and admirers including several current and former members of the Cubs’ roster. Joe Madden, David Ross, Bob Costas, and Eddie Vedder are all slated to take part.

“Pat’s induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame is a testament to his exceptional broadcasting career and unwavering dedication to the Cubs and 670 The Score,” said Mitch Rosen, Vice President and Brand Manager of 670 The Score. “For 28 seasons, Pat’s voice has captured the essence of Cubs baseball. We’re delighted to recount the franchises’ cornerstone moments soundtracked by his unforgettable calls and honor a fixture in Chicago sports.”

The station is currently airing short vignettes to honor Pat Hughes and highlight his career. On July 22, right after the Cubs’ game against the Cardinals, 670 The Score will also air Hughes’s Hall of Fame induction speech.
