The marquee football game in the Big Ten will be rotating between the conference’s three key media partners starting in 2024 according to a CBS executive.
CBS executive vice president of programming Dan Weinberg told the Indy Star at Big Ten Media Day this week that each network will get a chance for the first pick of games.
“We’re all going to have first pick multiple times over the course of the season,” Weinberg said. “But the depth of the league in particular, especially when the new members come in and when the (College Football Playoff) expands, the combination of those things create such depth that whether you have the top pick or not in any given week, you know you’re still going to have a very high-quality game.”
CBS is airing a limited number of Big Ten games this season, as it’s still in the final year of its contract with the SEC.
NBC, which will add Big Ten games to its slate of Notre Dame contests, will be able to flex conference games for its Saturday night slot.
