Korn Ferry Tour ‘Really Excited’ About Barstool Broadcast, Hopes to Expand Partnership

The future of Barstool Sports in broadcasting Korn Ferry Tour events is bright following the success of the digital media outlet’s debut coverage of a tour event this summer.

Barstool partnered with the Korn Ferry Tour to broadcast all four rounds of the NV5 Invitational. Coverage was available exclusively on Barstool’s digital platform Barstool.tv.

Tour president Alex Baldwin told Sports Business Journal that tour social channels experienced exponential growth, with a significant spike in website traffic as well thanks to Barstool’s coverage. Additionally, 82% of the audience that watched the Barstool coverage was of a much younger demographics than those that typically tune in.

“Traditionally, our media metrics are a lot older than that, so if we can combine this young audience with our other core viewers, that provides partnership opportunities and real value for everyone,” Baldwin said. “This broadcast allowed us to be very versatile with a sport that still maintains the competition, but we were able to do it through talent and player engagement that was fun.”
