Sports 1440 is not playing around. The station is set to launch on Tuesday in Edmonton and hockey fans are bound to be impressed with the lineup.
OilersNation.com has been revealing the names of the hosts that will be on the new station. No details about where or how they will be used are available.
The reveals began on Tuesday. Among those working for the station are former NHL center Mike Rupp, who is now with NHL Network, Andi Petrillo, who has covered hockey in Canada for TSN and the CBC, former Calgary Flames GM and TSN analyst Craig Button, and Kevin Woodley, of NHL.com.
On Wednesday, Oilers Nation added four more names to the list. Frank Seravalli, the president of the Professional Hockey Writers Association is on board, as is former Edmonton Eskimos defensive lineman Eddie Steele, NHL Network host Dave McCarthy, and Fantasy Frenzy host Brandon Douglas.
Edmonton’s previous sports talk station, TSN 1260 shut down suddenly earlier this summer amidst layoffs at Bell Media.
