Rich Zeoli: Michael Smerconish’s Future at CNN Could Be in Jeopardy After Fauci Questions

Over the weekend, SiriusXM host Michael Smerconish asked Dr. Anthony Fauci about studies that show masking might not be an effective defense against COVID-19 during his CNN program. 1210 WPHT host Rich Zeoli wonders if that line of questioning might affect Smerconish’s future with the network.

During The Rich Zeoli Show Monday, a clip of Smerconish’s interaction with Fauci — who claimed that masking works on an individual level more than with society as a whole — was played, with the Philadelphia host noting that COVID cases seemingly always rise as summer ends.

“There’ll be periods of time where ebbs and flows,” Zeoli argued. “They’re starting with this nonsense again. You just go ‘Oh yeah, well, that’s what that’s what happens. That’s what happens every time the summer ends’. It’s been like that every year. It’s such a joke and I’m so tired of the manipulation.”

He then turned his attention to Smerconish and openly wondered what the line of questioning — that subsequently went viral on social media — would mean for his future with the network.

“To Michael’s credit, he confronted Fauci with this study. I don’t know what this means for Michael’s future with CNN.”

Smerconish has hosted the 9:00 AM ET timeslot on Saturdays at CNN since 2014.
