Altitude Sports Radio Tops Denver Sports 104.3 The Fan for First Time in Summer Ratings Book

History has been made in the mile high city. In the latest summer ratings book, Altitude Sports Radio topped Denver Sports 104.3 The Fan for the first time since launching in April 2016.

Beginning with weekday prime (M-F 6a-7p), Altitude Sports Radio registered a 5.3 share, good for a 4th place tie with Men 25-54. Meanwhile, Denver Sports 104.3 The Fan finished with a 4.5 share, finishing 7th.

Altitude’s best story for the quarter was in mornings. Marc Moser, Vic Lombardi, and Brett Kane produced an impressive 7.1 share to finish 1st from 7a-10a. The morning trio had the best overall performance of any local sports talk show during the summer book. This now marks back to back head to head victories for Moser, Lombardi, and Kane. They also won the spring book. The Fan’s talented morning team of Mark Schlereth and Mike Evans generated a 4.5 share for the book to rank 7th.

Altitude’s midday shows were also in good shape this quarter. Dempsey and Company which mostly features Chris Dempsey, Matt McChesney, and Alex Rajaniemi delivered a 4.1 share to rank 9th for the book. The station’s second midday program, PHD featuring Tyler Polumbus, Scott Hastings, and Josh Dover earned an 8th place tie with a 4.3 share. The fall book will be interesting to follow as Dover recently exited Altitude to join The Fan.

For The Fan, middays produced different stories. The Player’s Club with Orlando Franklin, Chad Brown, and Nate Jackson had a 3.2 share and was ranked 14th, 5 spots behind Altitude. Their popular 12-3 show Stokley and Zach with Brandon Stockley and Zach Bye were in a dead heat with Altitude thanks to a similar 4.3 share.

With Dover switching sides to join The Fan, the station recently revamped its lineup. Stokley is now teaming with Dover in afternoons, and Bye has moved into afternoons with former Denver Bronco Phillip Lindsay.

The last of the weekday shows saw the afternoon drive team of Nate Kreckman and Andy Lindahl reel in a 4th place finish with a 6.2 share. The Drive, The Fan’s afternoon show previously hosted by Darren ‘DMac’ McKee finished 5th with a 5.1 share. Former Bronco Derek Wolfe was also a brief part of the summer book. He exited the station in July.

Closing things out with a look at the full week (M-SU 6a-Mid), Altitude Sports Radio garnered a 4.1 share to rank 7th for the quarter. Denver Sports 104.3 The Fan record a 3.7 to finish 9th.
