iHeartMedia Grand Rapids has announced that it will be adding the FOX Sports Radio slate of programming to 96.1 The Game, effective immediately.
The outlet previously carried ESPN Radio-affiliated programming and made the change on Monday morning while retaining two of its local programs. The X’s and Bro’s show airs from 6 to 9 AM, while The Huge Show hosted by Bill Simonson takes place in afternoon drive from 3 to 6 PM, both of which are produced by the Michigan Sports Network. Throughout the rest of the day, listeners can hear hit national programming such as The Dan Patrick Show, The Herd with Colin Cowherd, and Covino & Rich among others.
“We’re thrilled to now have the FOX Sports Radio lineup on 96.1 The Game,” Dave Taft, senior vice president of programming for iHeartMedia Grand Rapids, said in a statement. “This addition, along with local sports coverage, play-by-play, and the Michigan Sports Network, will continue our position as the broadcast sports leader in West Michigan.”
Listeners will be able to continue tuning in to shows both over the air and through digital platforms. Michigan Sports Network has been working with 96.1 The Game in addition to other outlets across Michigan and northern Ohio since 2021 when the two companies reached a distribution agreement.
Prior to the FOX Sports Radio deal with 96.1 The Game, consumers were able to hear select national programming on Talk Radio 1230 (WTKG-AM), one of the other stations within the iHeartMedia Grand Rapids cluster.
