A little more than three months after his exit from ESPN, Doug Kezirian has a new professional home at Only Players.
The New York Post reported last week that Kezirian is joining the sports gambling outlet as a host and equity holder in the company.
Doug Kezirian is a seasoned bettor who hosted Daily Wager on ESPN until his departure from the network. In this new opportunity, Kezirian will host a 30-minute daily show and pen a newsletter for Only Players.
Kezirian told The Post that he plans to play with his own money when making picks and offering betting advice. He said having actual skin in the game goes a long way in establishing that rapport and relationship with the audience.
“I wouldn’t want to take golf lessons from a club pro who’s only hit off the mat at a driving range — I want to take lessons from a guy who’s played!” he said.
“If people are going to take out their wallets and spend their money, don’t be reckless with the advice,” entrepreneur Paul Bremer said. “(Kezirian) is not going to be on the hook for a pick that he was just forced to pick because a media company told him to. He makes the picks that he feels passionate about.”
