A big change has taken place in Denver. According to sources, Denver Sports 104.3 The Fan and program director Raj Sharan have parted ways.
Sharan had led the brand’s programming department since February 2019. He was promoted from within after former PD Armen Williams moved to Houston to run Sports Radio 610.
Under Sharan’s guidance, The Fan enjoyed a lot of success, and made the strategic decision to rebrand as Denver Sports 104.3 The Fan. He joined the station in 2016 after previously working for the now defunct 105.5 ESPN. His eight year run saw him rise from producer to executive producer to program director.
Details surrounding Sharan’s exit and what he hopes to do next are scarce at the moment. What is known is that the station has not yet named a replacement.
Denver Sports recently suffered its first head to head sports radio ratings defeat in the Summer book. 104.3 then retooled its weekday lineup luring Josh Dover from Altitude Sports Radio to team with Brandon Stokley in middays, and pairing Zach Bye and former Denver Bronco and Colorado Buffaloes running back Phillip Lindsay in afternoons. Darren ‘DMac’ McKee was let go in that process but has since landed in Dover’s old spot at Altitude.
