In-Season Edition of Hard Knocks Featuring Miami Dolphins Premieres November 21st

The NFL has announced that Hard Knocks, the acclaimed sports documentary franchise from NFL Films and HBO Sports, will return to the airwaves next Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 9 PM ET for the first episode of its in-season edition with the Miami Dolphins. New episodes will debut every Tuesday through Jan. 9, and will continue for the duration of a potential playoff run by the team.

The network is beginning to capture the action as the team prepares for its Week 11 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. Footage is expected to showcase in-depth, behind-the-scenes access to the organization and how it approaches each game to best position itself for victory by the time kickoff begins. The series will air on HBO and also be available to stream on Max, the company’s streaming service that recently introduced a Bleacher Report-branded sports tier.

“We can’t wait to show the world the incredible personalities on the Miami Dolphins and the unbelievable preparation they put into each game,” Emily Leitner Cameron, senior producer at NFL Films, said in a statement. “All that hard work, seven days a week, promises to deliver an exciting new chapter in this series that means so much to the NFL, HBO, and football fans everywhere.”

While Hard Knocks has been on the air since 2001 when it showcased training camp with the Baltimore Ravens, the in-season edition of the show did not commence until 2021. The Indianapolis Colts were featured during that season, while the Arizona Cardinals were showcased as last season’s team. Prior to the start of the 2023 regular season, cameras documented New York Jets training camp, including the impact of new star quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

“It is thrilling for Hard Knocks to be back in season with the extraordinary team at NFL Films and the Miami Dolphins,” Nancy Abraham and Lisa Heller, co-executive vice presidents of HBO Documentary & Family Programming, said in a statement. “There is no better way to give HBO and Max viewers an exclusive inside window into what it really takes for a coach and a team to fight to get back to the NFL playoffs.”
